After that, the next action includes responding to an examination report and attending hearing and making post hearing submissions. Responding to examination report generally varies between ₹ 10,000 to ₹ 20,000 with around ₹ 10,000 to ₹ 20,000 as per hearing & post hearing submission charges, depending on the chosen patent service plan.

• Grant of patent - Once the patent examination process is over, the patent office will decide whether to grant the patent or not. Generally, no additional fee is charged once the patent is granted. Once granted, the patent needs to be renewed every year. A patent can be renewed for a maximum of 20 years, which will involve renewal fees. Furthermore, once a patent is granted, a working of patent statement needs to be filed on a yearly basis and additional fee will be applicable.
